Virginia voters head to the polls Tuesday to pick nominees in six of the state’s 11 U.S. House districts. Republicans will also pick a nominee to take on U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., in November.

What’s on the ballot?

1st District

  • In a district that includes parts of Henrico, Hanover and Chesterfield counties, Democrats Herb Jones and Leslie Mehta are seeking the right to challenge Rep. Rob Wittman, R-1st, in the fall.

U.S. Senate

  • Seeking the GOP nomination are Hung Cao, Jonathan Emord, Eddie Garcia, Scott Parkinson and Chuck Smith.

Poll hours

Tuesday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Anyone who is in line at 7 p.m. will to be allowed to vote.
