Three days before Super Tuesday, former President Donald Trump made his pitch for Virginia votes on Saturday by telling a Richmond crowd that “we’re a nation in decline, we’re a failing nation,” where crime is out of control and illegal immigration is a “gushing wound.”
In a more than 90-minute address at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, the presidential candidate repeated his unsubstantiated claims that he really won the 2020 election, and called President Joe Biden “a man who is totally corrupt … and who is cognitively impaired.”
Trump, who lost Virginia in 2016 to Hillary Clinton and in 2020 to Biden, also promised he would push to carry Virginia this fall.
