[Montross, VA] – Officials from Westmoreland County and the Town of Montross, VA joined the new owner of the Inn at Montross for an official ribbon cutting on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Following the grand reopening of the Inn was a meeting of Westmoreland County business representatives to discuss business priorities for the upcoming year, including the America250 local, state and national celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

“The reopening of The Inn at Montross marks a meaningful addition to Westmoreland County’s hospitality assets. Its renewed presence offers a lasting, vibrant venue for residents, destination for visitors, and membership of the broader business community,” said Darryl Fisher, Chairman, Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors.

“The area, and especially the Town of Montross, celebrates this beautiful building coming back to life again. We look forward to all of the potential uses the Inn of Montross offers in the future, and we highly encourage local support of those endeavors as they develop,” said Francine Taylor, Town Manager, Town of Montross.

“We are thrilled to have so many local officials and representatives join us for the grand reopening of the Inn at Montross,” said Owen Caine, Owner and Innkeeper since October 1st. “We are excited to be hosting Inn guests again and cannot think of a more fitting gesture to our promise of support for the local community than hosting our fellow local businesses, and the county government, for a 2026 planning discussion.”

The Inn at Montross has hosted numerous guests since coming under new ownership in October.

“This has been a fun beginning of a new adventure and we are eager to continue hosting more guests for their perfect getaways here at the Inn.” says Caine. “As a new member of the community, I, first and foremost, want to thank this town and county for being so friendly, inviting, and hospitable to all of us.
