A transgender Hanover County Public Schools student can now try out for her middle school girls tennis team this fall despite the school division’s numerous attempts to bar the 11-year-old from the team.
U.S. District Court Judge M. Hannah Lauck has issued a temporary injunction that will allow the student — known as “Janie Doe” to ensure her privacy — to participate in the 2024-25 season while the case moves forward.
