A $6-billion deal was struck this week between King George County and Amazon on a data center campus.

The campus will be in the county’s “Route 3 (Kings Highway) west settlement area,” according to a Tuesday news release from the county. “With this agreement, the county recognizes AWS has vested rights to repurpose the former property of Birchwood Power Facility, a coal power plant, and to develop other nearby industrial-zoned properties owned by the company.”
