Lego is ramping up construction on what will become one of its most significant global manufacturing hubs, with its Chesterfield County factory positioned to supply a large share of the North American market.
The company plans to double its local workforce and begin building a large on-site solar park this summer as the project moves closer to completion.
The Danish toymaker broke ground on the more-than-$1.5 billion facility in Meadowville Technology Park in 2023. The 1.7 million-square-foot campus is expected to bring more than 1,700 jobs to the region and serve as a key production center for Lego’s operations in the U.S. and beyond.
