A golfer suffered a medical emergency while playing at Hobbs Hole Golf Course in Tappahannock on Thursday afternoon.

The staff at Hobbs Hole Golf Course in Tappahannock responded to an emergency call 1:30 from a golfer reporting that his golfing partner had passed out. The staff provided first aid to the golfer until the Essex County Emergency Services personnel arrived. He was then transported to VCU Health – Tappahannock Hospital.

Officials say that the elderly golfer passed away and he was not identified.
