The mother and wife of two Huguenot High School graduation shooting victims has filed two federal lawsuits seeking a total of $26 million in damages from Richmond Public Schools.

The suits were filed by Tameeka Jackson-Smith. Jackson-Smith’s husband Renzo Smith and son Shawn Jackson were killed on June 6, 2023, in a shootout that erupted minutes after Huguenot High School’s graduation ceremony at the Altria Theater.

This February, Amari Pollard pleaded guilty to first-degree murder after four days of heated trial. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
