Project Background

This proposed project would convert the existing crossing to a restricted crossing U-turn (RCUT) intersection.

Through movements and left turns out from Centerville Road and a private commercial entrance at the Route 33 intersection would be prohibited as a safety enhancement to reduce the number of locations where vehicles may collide in a crash.

Side street traffic would first turn right and make a U-turn at a dedicated median opening to complete the desired movement. This project would also extend the existing right turn lane from Route 33 westbound onto Centerville Road.

The project would be advertised to potential bidders for construction in Dec. 2026.
