Robert Lindgren, president of Randolph-Macon College in Ashland since 2006, announced on Wednesday that he will step down next year.

Randolph-Macon, situated on 125 acres in Ashland, a town in Hanover County, has 1,500 undergraduate students. It prides itself on individualized attention, noting that it offers 55 areas of study and has an average class size of 16 students.
