VDOT is continuing repair work on the Downing Bridge between Tappahannock and Richmond County.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane with lane closures and brief delays between 9 pm and 7 am Sundays thru Thursdays. Automated flagging devices will direct one-way, alternating traffic through the work zone. Lane closures will not occur on weekends. Crews are repairing the aluminum railing along the structure and making concrete repairs to the bridge deck as part of a maintenance project. Weather permitting, work on the Downing Bridge is anticipated to be complete by this March.
