Rilee Baughan ODAC Player of the Week

FOREST, Va. – Senior pitcher/first baseman Rilee Baughan (Warsaw, Va./Rappahannock) has been named ODAC Player of the Week. Baughan excelled both at the plate and in the circle over the past week of play. This is Rilee’s second award of the young season. She is coming off winning ODAC Pitcher of the Week in the opening week of the season.

This week, Baughan was stellar at the plate, going 6-14 with three doubles, a home run, and three RBI. She opened the week with a 2-4 performance against fifth-ranked Berry. She had a double in the game as well. Over the weekend, Baughan had four hits in seven at bats in a double header against Muhlenberg. In game one, she blasted a three-run home run to extend the RMC lead. In game two, Rilee knocked two doubles in three at bats to help RMC sweep the double header.

She continued her strong start to the season in the circle, throwing a complete game against Berry on Wednesday with four hits allowed and seven strikeouts. She turned in an even better performance on Saturday, throwing a complete game shutout against Muhlenberg with two hits allowed and 11 strikeouts.

10th-ranked RMC softball will host Transylvania on Tuesday for a double header beginning at 2:30 p.m. in Ashland.
