For the second time within a week, there’s been a fatal motorcycle accident near the Town of Urbanna.
Virginia State Police responded at 11:40pm Saturday night to a report of a single vehicle motorcycle crash at the intersection of Burrells Marina Road and Route 602/Old Virginia Street.
The rider, 46 year-old Ulysses Wise, Jr. of Mattaponi, Virginia died at the scene of the crash. Wise was traveling at a high rate of speed and had failed to stop for the posted stop sign. Wise lost control and struck a sign before striking a tree.
At this time it is unknown if alcohol was a contributing factor.
The other previous occurred on last Tuesday night, when a moped was struck by a deer. A passenger died in that accident.
