WEEMS, Va. — On Thursday, May 8, Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger — running to serve as the next Governor of Virginia — will be in the Northern Neck to tour a local seafood plant and hear from leaders of Virginia’s seafood industry.
At W.E. Kellum Seafood — a family-owned seafood company in Weems, Spanberger will hear from business leaders about their vision for how to strengthen the industry and workforce into the future and address the challenges facing Virginia’s coastal economy.
Seafood is a $1 billion dollar industry in Virginia, supporting more than 7,000 jobs and generating more than $26 million in revenue each year.
