Virginia tax collections show no sign of economic trouble, exceeding the state budget forecast by $851 million for the first 10 months of the fiscal year, but Gov. Abigail Spanberger is taking no chances.
Spanberger announced that state revenues grew by 7%, compared to a year earlier, driven by higher-than-expected sales in March and a jump in income taxes paid by investors and sole proprietors.
However, the governor warned that “continued national uncertainty warrants caution.”
