A group of local veterans and citizens, including the Essex County Woman’s Club, American Legion Posts 64 and 401, the Potomac Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), and other service organizations are planning to honor all servicemembers at a Veterans Day ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023 in the vicinity of the Essex County War Memorial. Senator Richard Stuart, a Northern Neck native who served in the U.S. Marines and has been serving Virginia’s 28th district since 2008, will be the keynote speaker. There will be wreath laying followed by the playing of Taps at the conclusion of the ceremony.
