“Efforts to help those businesses affected by the downtown Tappahannock fire to rebuild and recover from are being lead by the Tappahannock Main Street Program, which would like to thank United Bank for working so quickly to establish an emergency fund to assist those affected by the fire.  Donations to the Tappahannock Main Street Disaster Relief Fund can be made by visiting any United Bank location.  The Main Street Program is also working to find new spots for the businesses to reopen in.  Robin Lamb, owner of the Rivah Hair Salon has contacted her customers and would see them in her home.  The owners of Martin-Sale Furniture Company, where the fire started in its Outlet Store, said they were thankful for everyone who helped fight the fire and blessed there were no injuries.  The businesses across the street from the fire are open and include the Martin Sale Furniture main store, Barbour Printing Services and Edward Jones Financial Advisor Jack Snyder.  The Tappahannock Art Gallery will resume normal hours this week starting on Thursday.”
