Boosting tenants’ rights has been a major theme at the General Assembly, where more than a dozen House of Delegates bills marched through state Senate doorkeepers Wednesday.

The latest batch to come before the Senate’s housing subcommittee includes measures already through the House that aim at leveling the playing field in court when tenants, generally without the help of lawyers, face eviction or have trouble getting landlords to make repairs.
