The Virginia Education Association, the parent organization of the majority of Virginia’s local teachers unions, said the House and Senate education budget proposals released on Sunday are a step in the right direction.
The House proposal offers $1 billion more to public education than Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s proposed two-year budget, and the Senate proposal offers $1.6 billion more to public schools than the governor’s plan.
