Virginia child care providers are bracing for a major drop-off in federal funding that could cause tens of thousands of kids in the state to lose child care.
Expansions to a federal child care subsidy program expired Sept. 30, and an additional $15 billion in child care grants that target low-income families are set to end Sept. 30, 2024.
