The Virginia Department of Education hosted its ninth and final public listening session on cellphone-free education in schools on Tuesday evening in Chesterfield County, following Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s executive order calling for policies restricting student cellphone use in schools.

Nearly 500 people have attended the sessions and there has been a broad consensus from parents and teachers to remove phones during the school day, with most advocating removing them for the entire day, according to the education department.
