Virginia’s senators say the U.S. Senate will take the lead to force Congress back to work by taking bipartisan action on a $100 billion budget package that President Joe Biden will introduce to provide military aid to Israel and Ukraine and humanitarian aid to Gaza, boost border security and provide help to states stricken by natural disasters.

Sen. Tim Kaine and Sen. Mark Warner, both Democrats and former governors, say they cannot resolve the Republican Party leadership battle that has paralyzed the House of Representatives. They hope the Senate will lead by example and persuade the House to do its job.
