Winners for the four-year scholarship program:
In first place, winning $4000, is Ruth Haile of Mechanicsville, VA. Ruth graduated from Hanover High School in 2023 and will be a junior at Virginia Tech in the fall. She is majoring in Animal and Poultry Science. She hopes to be a mixed animal veterinarian, as well as continue her family’s farm raising beef cattle.
In second place, winning $3000, is Davis Unser from Aylett, VA. Davis graduated from King William High School this past May. He will attend Virginia Tech and major in Crop and Soil Science. Davis would like to pursue a career as an agronomist.
In third place, winning $1000, is Rachel Haile from Mechanicsville, VA. Rachel graduated from Hanover High School earlier this June. She will attend Virginia Tech and major in Civil Engineering. Rachel plans to pursue a career as a civil engineer with a special focus on remediating erosion issues in farm fields.
Winner for the two-year scholarship program ($2000):
Taylor Mitchell of Heathsville graduated from Northumberland High School in 2022. She is currently attending Rappahannock Community College and majoring in Agriculture Business. Taylor plans to pursue a career in sales for an agricultural business.
