Police say a Richmond County man is facing 21 felony charges involving crimes against children.
Richmond County Sheriff Steve Smith reports that last Friday morning, 55 year-old David Lawrence Schneider of Farnham was scheduled for a bond hearing on 2-felony charges of taking liberties with a child in a custodial role. Instead, he was charged with an additional 19 felonies the night before involving crimes against children. Bond was not deliberated and another court hearing is scheduled for today. Schneider, who served as pastor of Fairport Baptist Church in Reedville, is being held at the Northern Neck Regional Jail without bond.
