WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) announced that the 2024 Congressional Art Competition is now open to all high school students in Virginia’s First District. The deadline to enter this year’s competition is May 1.

The overall winning artwork will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol along with other contest winners from all other congressional districts nationwide. The winner not only receives the honor of having their art hung in the Capitol exhibition, and will also be invited to a reception in the U.S. Capitol held in honor of the Congressional Art Competition winners. “The Commonwealth is home to incredible artistic talent and many bright young students — I encourage all young artists in Virginia’s First District to submit an original piece to this year’s Congressional Art Competition,” said Congressman Wittman. “I look forward to seeing the creativity of our Virginia students in their submissions.”

Student entries may include paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed media, computer-generated art, and photography. All entries must be original in concept, design, and execution and may not violate any U.S. copyright laws.
