Wavie Jones, a former Central State Hospital security employee, has been found not guilty in the death of Irvo Otieno. Jones had been charged with involuntary manslaughter.
Otieno died in March 2023 in the custody of deputies with the Henrico County Sheriff’s Office.
The ruling came Thursday after a four-day trial in Dinwiddie County. Jurors returned the not guilty verdict after just 20 minutes of deliberation.
