The Virginia Department of Transportation is alerting drivers to prepare for significant traffic along a stretch of Interstate 95 South over the weekend.

The agency will be restoring and maintaining the shoulder area of the roadway, closing the right and center southbound lanes near Parham Road. The closures will be in place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

Motorists traveling through the Richmond area should use Interstate 295 to avoid significant delays.
