The vote that saw Abigail Spanberger elected Virginia’s next governor by a margin of 15 percentage points concluded without any significant glitches, the state’s top elections officials said Monday.

Susan Beals, commissioner of the state Department of Elections, told the State Board of Elections that the vote went smoothly. Beals was an aide to state Sen. Amanda Chase, R-Chesterfield, and a Republican member of the Chesterfield County Electoral Board before Gov. Glenn Youngkin named her commissioner.
