Democrat Abigail Spanberger leads Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears by 7 percentage points in a new poll of likely Virginia voters, but her Democratic running mates have lost ground in the races for lieutenant governor and attorney general.
The poll from the Wason Center for Civic Leadership at Christopher Newport University shows Sen. Ghazala Hashmi, D-Chesterfield, with a lead of 2 percentage points over Republican John Reid in the contest for lieutenant governor and Republican incumbent Jason Miyares up on Democrat Jay Jones by 1 percentage point in the race for attorney general.
