BLACKSBURG — The creation of a new company that will handle the Virginia Tech athletic department’s revenue-generating operations took a step forward Monday afternoon.
Two committees of the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors unanimously approved a resolution to create Hokie Ventures, a nonprofit company that will work as a strategic partner with the university to increase the athletic department’s revenue stream. Another resolution to loan $15.2 million for capital to be used by the new corporation also was unanimously approved.
