Gov. Abigail Spanberger has nominated four new members to the board of visitors at Virginia Commonwealth University. The 16-member board makes major decisions for the university, such as hiring and firing the president and setting tuition.

After they are nominated, board members must be confirmed by the General Assembly. In February, Democrats voted to remove three VCU board members nominated by former Gov. Glenn Youngkin.
