Lawyers for Attorney General Jason Miyares have denied an open records request for his office’s report into the Nov. 13, 2022, shooting that claimed the lives of three University of Virginia football players.
Assistant General Counsel Tyler Barnes denied the request made by the Richmond Times-Dispatch under a clause of Virginia’s open records act that protects attorney-client privilege. The Attorney General’s Office represents the state, including universities such as UVa.
