At least one person was arrested outside Quirk Hotel on Sunday afternoon after Richmond police declared an unlawful assembly and ordered a group of pro-Palestine protesters to disperse.

The protesters, who had gathered at Monroe Park at 2 p.m., had marched to the hotel to demand to speak with Sen. Tim Kaine, who was at the hotel for a book-signing event. The group blocked the eastbound lanes of West Broad Street and stood outside the building, chanting and calling for Kaine to come outside.
