The Virginia Supreme Court on Monday morning heard arguments from and questioned lawyers representing both sides of the congressional redistricting issue.

Last week, Virginia voters narrowly approved a referendum allowing the Democrat-led state legislature to aggressively gerrymander Virginia’s congressional districts in an attempt to balance out Republican gerrymandering in other states.

Monday’s arguments largely focused on two key issues: early voting and the scope of October’s special session.
