TAG is pleased to announce the opening of Ronda Rotz’s new show at the gallery on February 28. Her artwork is defined by an experimental, cross-disciplinary approach. She often incorporates hand-painted papers into layered, textured collages that merge painting and assemblage techniques. The abstract compositions in her show Aquatic Reverie are inspired by the colors, textures, and organic shapes found in the natural world in which water often plays a key role.

Rotz’s passion for creativity ignited at a young age when she hijacked one of her mother’s paint-by-number kits. That spontaneous act sparked a lifelong love of art that has fueled her explorations across diverse mediums including acrylics, watercolors, cold wax and oil, collage, sewing, fiber arts, and professional floral design.

As a Resident Artist at The Art Center of Montross, Ronda is an active member of the local art community. She is also a member of the Colonial Beach Artists Guild and Northern Neck Networking, organizations that provide support and opportunities for artists and businesses to connect and collaborate. Additionally, Ronda serves on the board of J-Art, a non-profit organization promoting the arts to support underserved school children in the Northern Neck area. Through her involvement in these groups, Ronda advocates for the importance of art education and accessibility, working to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to experience and create art.

Ronda shares her passion for art, encouraging others to embark on their own creative journeys. As she continues to create and inspire, Ronda Rotz exemplifies the transformative power of art and its ability to connect us to ourselves and each other.

Aquatic Reverie opens Friday, February 28, 2025 with an opening reception at TAG from 4:30 to 7pm. This is part of Date Night in Tappahannock, where visitors can walk from Act XII Wine and Provisions for a wine tasting from 4:30 to 6:30, then to TAG for the art opening, and finally to 1710 Tavern for dinner.
