Virginia State Police are investigating a school bus crash in Mathews County.
The single vehicle bus crash occurred around 10:20 Saturday night at the intersection of Route 14 and Buckley Hill Road.
The bus was transporting 26 students when it failed to stop at the intersection and proceeded down a four foot ditch. 2 students were transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.
All parents were notified by the school district and transportation for the other students on the bus was arranged.
It was determined that speed nor alcohol were contributing factors. The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
