The Northern Neck Master Gardeners’ Shoreline Evaluation Program, an initiative dedicated to promoting sustainable shoreline practices will host “Planting for Success: Best Choices for Shoreline Protection” on Friday, October 3, from 2 to 3:30 pm at the Bayne Center, Historic Christ Church, Weems. Attendees will learn about selecting shoreline plants based on soil, light, moisture, and aesthetic needs, and discover new cultivars. The program is free with limited space; register in advance by calling the Lancaster office of Virginia Cooperative Extension at (804) 462-5780.
