The University of Virginia has promised, once again, to release the $1.5 million, taxpayer-funded, third-party review of the shooting that killed three students and injured two in 2022.
The university previously promised to release the review, or at least a public version of it, that November, but it was later withheld after UVa administrators said it could jeopardize the criminal proceedings against Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., the former student charged with killing his classmates.
However, those criminal proceedings appear to be nearing their end after the 25-year-old Jones accepted a plea deal in Albemarle County Circuit Court on Wednesday.
