Virginians who lose their jobs could see a larger unemployment insurance benefit beginning next month.
Legislation enacted this year increases the maximum weekly benefit to $478 from $430 for new claims filed on and after July 5, the Virginia Employment Commission said.
In addition, House Bill 1320 and Senate Bill 759 increase the minimum benefit to $160 a week from $112.
