ESSEX- At 4:40 a.m. on Wednesday (Aug 28, 2024), Virginia State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality at Supply Road and Tidewater Trail in Essex County.
A 2018 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Danny William Holmes, 61, of Essex, failed to stop at the stop sign and struck a tractor-trailer driving south on Tidewater Trail. He succumbed to injury at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer suffered non-life-threatening injury.
This crash remains under investigation.
