UPDATE:

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp reported that Saturday mornings stabbing incident involving 20 year-old Rishon Winkler of Baltimore, Maryland was an isolated incident with some family.

Beauchamp reports that deputies responded within 2-minutes after the 4am call. A female victim, suffering from multiple stab wounds gave information about the suspect. She also said that there was a second victim was in the house. She was taken to the hospital. The other victim was found deceased and identified as 58 year-old Richard E. Jacks of Wicomico Church.

Winkler was apprehended around 7am at the intersection of Beans Road and Courthouse Road.

He was arraigned on Monday.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnnie Beachchamp reports that 20 year-old Rishon Winkler of Baltimore, Maryland has been charged with fatality stabbing one person and injuring another person.

The stabbings occurred Saturday morning around 4am in the 2700 block of Brown’s Store Road near Wicomico Church.

Winkler has been charged with one count of second-degree murder, one count of aggravated malicious wounding and a charge of attempted murder.

Beachamp also added that more will be released later and no motive has been determined.

The Northumberland County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted by Lancaster and Westmoreland County Deputies, Virginia State Police and the Kilmarnock Police Department.
