A bill to allow Virginians to join together to pursue claims for damages passed a key General Assembly gatekeeper panel Wednesday.
The bill, HB418, says people suing for damages can ask a state circuit court judge to rule they represent a class of people similarly harmed. The bill passed the House of Delegates Civil Law subcommittee on a 5-3 party-line vote.
