King William, VA – The Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal crash that occurred in the 100 block of Sullens Creek Road in King William. Troopers responded to the scene around 3:15 p.m.
Preliminary findings indicate that the crash was the result of a medical emergency. Dorothy Hill, 85, of King William, was traveling down her dirt driveway at approximately 50 mph when her vehicle ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree. Hill was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A passenger in the vehicle, James Corbin, 67, of King and Queen, sustained critical injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Corbin was also not wearing a seatbelt.
The Virginia State Police extend their condolences to the families affected by this tragic incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
