High winds from Tropical Storm Ophelia fueled a fire to the Rappahannock Oyster Company on Saturday morning on Locklies Road near Topping in Middlesex County.

One of the owners, Travis Croxton, said the fire was reported around 7am. It involved the dock structure where the oysters were processed and the equipment.

The dock structure has been around for years and no estimate of the damage or cause of the fire has been determined.

Croxton did report that the nearby Merroir Restaurant was not affected by the fire.
