Virginia’s sales tax holiday returns this weekend, giving residents a chance to get a break on the cost of certain items, such as low-dollar school supplies, clothing items that qualify and products to aid in hurricane preparedness.

The sales tax holiday begins this Friday, Oct. 20, at 12:01 a.m. and ends Sunday, Oct. 22 at 11:59 p.m.

Depending on where Virginia residents live, they can save anywhere from 5.3% to 7% of the cost on qualifying items.
