Nearly 3,400 voters who’d mistakenly been removed from the rolls have been reinstated, Virginia’s Department of Elections said on Friday.

The voters, who had been “canceled in error,” are felons who had violated their probation but were misclassified as having committed new felonies.

Also, according to the release, the records have been sent to local registrars around the state to notify affected voters by mail.
